Client: Dame
Our Role: Industrial Design + Design Engineer
Studio RedEye partnered with Dame to develop Hug — a couples’ Penis ring that’s comfortable, easy to use, and refreshingly inclusive.
We led the industrial design and CAD development, collaborating closely with Dame to bring a novel spring-actuated mechanism into a soft, user-friendly form.
The result is a standout product that fits the brand’s mission and fills a real gap in the category.

We began by surveying the competitive landscape, identifying where current products fell short in accessibility and ease of use. From there, we led concept generation and form exploration, iterating in CAD to sculpt a ring that felt intuitive and inviting. To validate the spring’s function, we built and tested multiple functional prototypes — ensuring the mechanism was both satisfying and secure.

We explored a variety of opening styles and grip interactions — focusing on natural gestures and hand positioning.
The sketches informed how the spring could be both functional and seamless within a soft form.

Our team sculpted the 3D geometry with attention to manufacturability and tactile experience — refining wall thicknesses, spring tolerances, and transitions to ensure performance without compromising the visual design.

Proof-of-concept prototypes helped us fine-tune the spring’s resistance and snap — dialing in the “feel” of the squeeze to be both easy and satisfying.
