Clorox Sink Sponge Holder
Client: Ginsey Home Solutions, for Clorox
Our Role: Industrial Design + Strategy
Studio RedEye partnered with Clorox to design a new line of sink-side kitchen organization products, blending functional innovation with a clean, modern aesthetic. This case study highlights the design and development of the expandable sponge holder — a simple, flexible solution designed for real daily use.

Clorox tasked us with creating a line that would feel trustworthy, intuitive, and well-suited for modern kitchens. Through strategic research — including pricing audits, trend analysis, and qualitative user interviews — we identified key needs:
• Adaptability for different cleaning tools
• Easy maintenance and cleaning
• A cohesive visual language across multiple products
• The sponge holder was designed to meet these goals, with small but impactful details that simplify everyday tasks
A detachable back plate makes it easy to clean the holder thoroughly, supporting Clorox’s brand promise of hygiene and care.
The sponge holder is part of a full family of products, all designed to coordinate in both form and function. Each piece supports a cleaner, more organized sink space.
Hands-On Testing and Development
Throughout development, we tested real-world scenarios to ensure flexibility and functionality, adapting the design to meet a variety of needs beyond traditional sponge storage.
Detailed CAD development allowed for fine-tuning the geometry, ensuring durability, manufacturability, and user-friendly assembly.
By combining consumer insights, hands-on testing, and detailed development, Studio RedEye helped Clorox deliver a kitchen organization line that feels clean, functional, and seamlessly integrated into everyday life. The expandable sponge holder is a small innovation that makes a meaningful difference — reflecting Clorox’s trusted reputation for practical, high-quality solutions.
